About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to lead our Vocational Rehabilitation Services at Solent NHS Trust. As a Clinical Lead, you will provide clinical leadership and expert clinical intervention to our Neuro Vocational Rehab pathway.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and develop the provision of an effective and efficient Vocational Rehabilitation Service for Neurological and Stroke clients.
  • Provide highly specialist occupational therapy skills within Vocational Rehabilitation.
  • Undertake advanced specialist therapeutic assessments and treatment for patients with diverse and complex conditions.
  • Advocate for patient empowerment and promote a rehabilitation ethos in all elements of patient care and activity.
  • Support the case management process by providing expert clinical advice and therapy to patients with complex conditions.
  • Support senior and junior staff to develop their skills and map their development needs.
  • Provide strong clinical and operational leadership within the VRS team.

Person Specification
  • UK Health Professions Council registered (HCPC, NMC) Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist/Nurse with education to degree level or equivalent.
  • Post graduate training or equivalent experience.
  • Education to master's level or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant specialist clinical experience and competence in advanced clinical practice.
  • Leading complex therapy/care coordination.
  • Proactively manage complex conditions.
  • Managing cognitive impairment and mental wellbeing.
  • Supporting self-care, self-management and enabling independence.
  • Working with a wide range of conditions including Neurological, orthopaedics, musculoskeletal and respiratory.
  • Able to demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience of delivery of teaching.
  • Experience of appraisal, supervision & recruitment processes.
  • Experience of clinical Audit and risk assessment.
