Senior Regulatory Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Response Senior Scientist to oversee responses to emerging water quality sample failures and incidents. This critical role involves analysing complex data, writing technical reports, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken to protect public health and meet regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage complex cases in response to water quality failures and incidents, ensuring compliance with company procedures and regulatory standards.
- Ensure proper triage and escalation of regulatory and public health risks to internal stakeholders and external bodies.
- Build strong working relationships with key teams within the business and external stakeholders, such as Public Health teams and the Drinking Water Inspectorate.
- Contribute to the team's development programme, including delivering training and maintenance of key Water Quality response procedures.
- HNC or Degree in a relevant scientific discipline and/or significant relevant water industry experience, ideally within the field of water quality.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential for this role, as is interpreting and presenting large analytical data sets to a varied audience.
- Understanding of the current Drinking Water Quality regulatory framework and regulations would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of GIS systems and LIMS systems (Sample Manager) are desirable but not essential.
- Competitive salary £36,240 - £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
- Annual Leave Grade - 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service (plus bank holidays).
- Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% -2x employee contribution.
