Role Overview:

Foster Retention Social Workers play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability and quality of foster placements. By providing ongoing support and supervision to foster carers, they help these individuals feel confident in their roles, ultimately improving outcomes for children in their care.

As a Fostering Retention Social Worker with Randstad, you will work closely with fostering and children's services teams to monitor the quality of foster care placements. Your expertise will be invaluable in developing and implementing strategies to improve foster carer retention and reduce placement breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing Support and Supervision: Provide regular guidance and advocacy to foster carers, helping them navigate challenges and ensure the well-being of the children in their care.
  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with fostering and children's services teams to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted strategies to enhance foster carer retention.
  • Placement Monitoring: Work closely with teams to monitor the quality of foster care placements, identifying potential issues and developing solutions to address them.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A qualified social work degree and registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in fostering, adoption, or a similar area within children's services.
  • A strong understanding of fostering regulations, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with foster carers, children, and professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
