Job Summary

IKM Testing UK is seeking an experienced Mechanic - Equipment Specialist to join their busy Workshop Department in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will have a proven mechanical background, with a strong foundation in diesel engines, fluid pumps, and nitrogen equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on IKM-owned equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Conduct on-site repairs and servicing of mobilized IKM equipment, adhering to company procedures and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate service records and collaborate with the Certification Coordinator to ensure compliance with certification requirements.
  • Participate in daily Tool Box Talks to promote a culture of safety and best practices.
  • Execute workshop and yard activities, including fabrication, equipment function testing, and inventory management.
  • Ensure all equipment is stored in designated areas, and IKM's Status Label System is utilized at all times.
  • Liaise with stores to maintain adequate spare parts inventory for routine maintenance.
  • Mentor trainees during their time in the workshop, promoting knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Assist the Logistics Coordinator in allocating equipment for mobilization, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Foreman or Workshop Manager, aligning with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Proven mechanical background, with experience in diesel engines, fluid pumps, and nitrogen equipment.
  • Previous experience working in the Oil and Gas industry, with a strong understanding of pipeline and process testing operations.
  • Sound technical knowledge of equipment used in the industry, with a focus on large diesel units.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to the role, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
