Job Overview

Main Responsibilities

As a Practice Development Midwife, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational and developmental programmes for midwives and other healthcare professionals. Your key duties will include:

  • Developing curriculum, training materials, and resources to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Staying updated on the latest evidence-based practices in midwifery.
  • Developing and updating clinical guidelines and standards to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Conducting training sessions and workshops for midwives to improve their clinical competencies.
  • Providing ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance the skills of the maternity care team.
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams to identify areas for improvement in maternity care.

  • Engaging in research activities to contribute to the advancement of midwifery practices.

Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced midwife who possesses the following qualifications and skills:

  • Registered Midwife with a UK NMC Pin.
  • SSSA/Mentorship qualification.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Prior experience in a similar role or in a leadership position within a maternity service.
