Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Trading Leader with a strong quantitative background to lead our Trading team at Fuse Energy, LLC. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of power and gas markets, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to develop and implement sophisticated trading strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Strategy:
    • Accountable for the Trading team across hedging and prop, driving business growth and profitability.
    • Development and implementation of strategies for trading power and gas in the short-term markets and along the forward curve, ensuring optimal risk management.
    • Oversight of engineering and data science teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
    • Manage the risk profile of the trading portfolio, implementing appropriate risk management measures to minimize losses.
  • Quantitative Analysis and Trading:
    • Leverage Python to deliver trading processes and data analysis, ensuring robust back-testing of trading strategies to validate their effectiveness.
  • Team Management and Development:
    • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing trading team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Requirements:
    • Minimum 7 years of experience in power and gas trading, with a proven track record of success in a senior trading role.
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a deep understanding of statistical and mathematical methods.
    • Proficiency in Python is essential; familiarity with other programming languages (e.g., R, SQL) is advantageous.
    • In-depth knowledge of power markets, trading instruments, and regulatory environments.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop high-performance trading teams.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
