Job Title: Clinical Neurophysiology Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Neurophysiology Consultant to join our team at the John Radcliffe Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the running of the diagnostic EEG, paediatric and adult epilepsy, and sleep disorders services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Clinical Neurophysiology, with experience in EEG video-telemetry, sleep studies, and epilepsy pre-surgical assessment. They will also have excellent leadership skills, with the ability to lead a clinical team at the level of a consultant in a teaching hospital.

The postholder will work closely with the multidisciplinary teams dealing with epilepsy and sleep disorders in the trust and as part of the Children's Epilepsy Surgery Network (CESS). They will be required to participate in the urgent adult and paediatric neurophysiology rota, which provides an in-hours weekday service and cover during colleagues' leave of absence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the running of the diagnostic EEG, paediatric and adult epilepsy, and sleep disorders services
  • Lead a clinical team at the level of a consultant in a teaching hospital
  • Participate in the urgent adult and paediatric neurophysiology rota
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams dealing with epilepsy and sleep disorders
Requirements:
  • Full registration and licence to practice with the GMC
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCT) in Clinical Neurophysiology and/or Neurology
  • Specialist sleep accreditation
  • Specialist epilepsy accreditation
