Job Title: Early Years Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Early Years Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons Fleet Day Nursery and Preschool. As a key member of our nursery team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving healthy, nutritious meals to our children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook meals for children, ensuring minimum wastage and catering to dietary requirements.
  • Lead cookery club sessions with children, promoting healthy eating and nutrition.
  • Work in partnership with the nursery team and parents to encourage a healthy and safe environment.
  • Manage kitchen stock levels, adhering to company procedures.
  • Ensure child welfare, protection, health, and safety, and safeguarding.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in cooking in a domestic or commercial setting.
  • Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating.
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) – must be passed on day 1 in post.
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing dietary requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with colleagues, children, and parents.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
