The Role
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading independent planning practice based in Kent, recognized for delivering expert planning advice and innovative solutions across a broad spectrum of development projects.
We are seeking an experienced Urban Planning Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will lead and manage a portfolio of complex planning projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Senior Town Development Manager to take their career to the next level. As part of our dynamic team, you will oversee the preparation and submission of planning applications, including coordinating technical reports and ensuring compliance with local and national planning policies.

Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Lead and manage a portfolio of complex planning projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert planning advice, managing client expectations, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Planning Applications: Oversee the preparation and submission of planning applications, including coordinating technical reports, ensuring compliance with local and national planning policies.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and manage junior planners, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to help them grow within the practice.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Educational Background: Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field. A master's degree is desirable.
- Professional Accreditation: Chartered membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) is essential.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in a planning role, with a proven track record in leading and delivering successful planning projects.
Estimated Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum.
