Job Description

Job Title: Senior Practitioner - Fostering Solutions

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Practitioner to join our team at Fostering Solutions. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting the management of our fostering service, working closely with the Team Manager to develop and implement strategies to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Team Manager in the overall management of the region, including the development and implementation of strategies to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people in our care.
  • Work closely with the regional management team to develop and implement practice and growth of the fostering service.
  • Manage staff to lead projects and develop the service, ensuring a ready supply of safe, caring foster placements that offer protection to a wide range of children and young people.
  • Supervise a small number of foster carers as required and support foster carers with children who have more complex needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, other agencies, and stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people in our care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of practice and care.
  • Participate in training and professional development to maintain and enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the relevant Social Work regulatory council (e.g., Social Work England/Wales, NISCC, SSSC).
  • Recent experience in services for children, including fostering and/or residential care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, foster carers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Good IT skills and ability to use technology to support practice and communication.
