Job Summary:

The Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Sonographer to join its Radiology Team as an Ultrasound Clinical Tutor. This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week, with a permanent contract.

About the Role:

  • Deliver and coordinate the practical aspect of university courses within the department.
  • Be a senior member of the ultrasound team, responsible for coordinating and delivering specialist clinical training and education to sonographers, midwife ultrasound practitioners, and ultrasound trainees.
  • Carry out and report on specialized ultrasound examinations to a high standard and in a professional manner.
  • Hold a postgraduate ultrasound qualification and have excellent clinical skills and experience.
  • Be responsible for developing and maximizing training and education within the ultrasound service, with a focus on ultrasound trainees.
  • Work closely with the sonography team, senior colleagues, and radiologists to ensure a patient-focused, safe, effective, and efficient service.

About the Department:

The Radiology Department at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust offers a wide range of ultrasound services, including obstetrics, gynecology, MSK, general abdominal, and A&E services. The department has a managed equipment contract with Siemens, resulting in a rolling five-year equipment replacement plan.

Requirements:

  • Be an experienced sonographer with a postgraduate ultrasound qualification.
  • Have excellent clinical skills and experience.
  • Be registered on the voluntary SCoR sonographer or HCPC or NMC registration.
