Job Title: Product Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Manager to join our team at The Bread Factory Limited. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing the development stage and gate process from concept to launch, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and are launched on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development stage and gate process from concept to launch, ensuring that launch date is achieved.
  • Ensure project briefs are approved prior to any work starting on product(s), taking the form of a development brief and prior to sign off from the BFF.
  • Agree and manage critical paths for project/product launch and follow the internal TBF NPD process, as well as the customer-specific NPD process requirements, as defined in their development guidelines.
  • Update project progress to the wider team via weekly project progress meetings against the critical paths to ensure any issues are raised.
  • Ensure due diligence for all product launches is carried out.
  • You will be the main point of contact with customers, keeping the Food teams, Commercial teams, and/or retail customers updated on development progress, development presentations, reviews, and building strong relationships.
  • Manage the project workflow in conjunction with the Product and Process Development Manager (kitchen & process) to deliver against agreed timelines.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings to ensure launches progress to a high level of product quality, breaking down next steps with key stakeholders and recommending solutions to mitigate risk and escalate when appropriate.
  • Keep stakeholders accountable to their deadlines, flag & flex, escalate, drive progress, and remove obstacles when required.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Onboard relevant stakeholders and get their buy-in to projects.

Requirements:

  • Deliver successful product launches on time and to cost, driving growth.
  • Follow gate process and development systems.
  • Ensure key stakeholders are aware of project status and informed of any blockers to facilitate resolution of issues.
  • Hold project participants accountable for completing actions against agreed timelines.
  • Deliver accurate product costings.
  • Ensure artwork and packaging are right first time.
  • Facilitate cross-functional team ways of working & feedback.
