Support People with Learning Disabilities

We are looking for a Community Support Specialist to join our team at Be Caring in Newcastle. This is a full-time role that requires a warm and welcoming attitude, enabling us to support people with learning disabilities to live happy and fulfilling lives.

About the Role
  • This is a full-time position supporting individuals with learning disabilities across Newcastle

The ideal candidate will have a kind and compassionate approach, building caring and supportive relationships with the people we support and their families. As a Community Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing person-centred support, promoting choice, independence, and voice.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £12,000 per year (approximately £11.50-£12.00 p/hr). In addition to your salary, you will receive:

  • Fully funded DBS
  • Paid induction training
  • Training development: funded Level 3 and other accredited courses
  • Holiday pay: annual leave accumulates with working hours
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP): free 24-hour helpline, advice, and guidance for yourself and dependents
  • Union membership (optional) through our partnership with the GMB
Requirements

You do not need a degree or care qualifications to be a great Community Support Specialist. However, you must be willing to learn and adapt with the people you support. As a key member of our team, you will:

  • Be Proud: Support the person to become as independent as they can, making their own choices, decisions, and managing their finances
