Your key responsibilities will include:

* Working quickly and accurately on breaking news and enterprise stories, collaborating with editors, visual teams, and section chiefs.
* Driving visual coverage in the international time zone, anticipating photographic and other needs as stories develop.
* Assigning photography, working with photographers, editors, and reporters to tell narrative, investigative, breaking news, and enterprise stories on all platforms.
* Following department guidelines and safety protocols in working with photographers and subjects.
* Promoting a diverse and exciting group of photographers and subjects, with an eye to building new audiences for our journalism.
* Pitching visually innovative and original projects and approaches to digital story production, demonstrating an understanding of the different platforms and audiences.
* Working with platform and off-platform editors to surface the work strategically across all platforms.
* Maintaining a budget effectively, working with your Manager.

We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience in a photo editing role, a strong network of international photographers and sources, and proven deep research skills and experience with news gathering and research tools.
