Position Overview

Active Care Group is dedicated to providing exceptional care services within the home environment. Our Care in the Home division is expanding, and we are committed to delivering safe, reliable, and outcome-focused support to our clients through our skilled support workers, healthcare professionals, and management team. Please be aware that we cannot offer sponsorship for this position, and candidates requiring a certificate of sponsorship to work in the UK will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking experienced, motivated, and proactive *Female Care Assistants for a live-in role in Worcestershire.

Candidates must possess a full clean driving license and be available to work on a rolling schedule of two weeks on and two weeks off. This is a zero-hour contract with consistent shifts assigned to ensure continuity of care.

Attendance at our company training is mandatory, which includes a five-day stay away from home. We will cover travel and accommodation costs, and breakfast will be provided.

*Please note that we are specifically recruiting Female Care Assistants due to a genuine occupational requirement for the individual we support, making this role exempt from the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9.

Job Duties

Meet Our Client:

Our client is a wonderful gentleman with a spinal cord injury who strives to remain as active as possible. He follows a vegetarian diet and enjoys preparing delicious vegetarian meals with his Care Assistants. He is also a proud dog owner and requires assistance with their care.

Work Schedule:

  • Rolling rota of two weeks on and two weeks off
  • Living in the client's residence 24/7 during shifts
  • Zero-hour contract with regular shifts as outlined above

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the client in exercising choice and control over their daily life as much as possible
  • Collaborating with and assisting the family as needed
  • Helping the client maintain personal hygiene (including washing, dressing, and toileting)
  • Aiding the client in accessing local amenities such as shops and recreational facilities, as well as attending community events
  • Following the documented service user plan for the client
  • Keeping accurate and confidential records
  • Participating in manual handling procedures as specified for the client
  • Maintaining professional boundaries with the client and their family, adhering to guidance from the care manager as appropriate

Candidate Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  • A full clean driving license
  • A genuine passion for delivering high-quality person-centered care
  • Previous experience working with individuals with spinal injuries is preferred but not mandatory, as full training will be provided
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn and grow professionally
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by us)
