We are seeking a compassionate and reliable individual to support our 23-year-old son, Asher, who has a visual impairment and is non-verbal. As his personal assistant, you will play a vital role in building a strong relationship with Asher and engaging him in activities he enjoys.
Key Responsibilities- Support Asher in his daily life, including accompanying him on outings and activities
- Develop a strong understanding of Asher's interests and preferences
- Ensure Asher's safety and well-being at all times
- Communicate effectively with Asher using signs and gestures
We are looking for someone who is patient, understanding, and able to work independently. Experience working with individuals with visual impairments is desirable but not essential. You will need to be able to commit to a regular schedule, including Thursday or Saturday afternoons.
What We OfferAs a personal assistant for Disability North, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on Asher's life and contribute to our organization's mission to support individuals with disabilities. We offer a competitive hourly rate of £12.00 and a supportive working environment.
