Job Title: Child and Young Person Support Worker
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Major Healthcare. As a Support Worker for Children and Young People, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our young clients.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide support and care to children and young people in accordance with their individual care plans.
- Promote the safety and well-being of our clients, protecting them from harm and ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Cook, clean, and support the development of life skills in our young people.
- Support clients in engaging with education, training, and employment opportunities.
- Facilitate engagement with broader support services and health appointments.
- Transport clients as necessary.
- Adhere to the Philomena Protocol in the event of a child going missing from home.
- Maintain accurate records and complete handovers with colleagues.
- Adhere to all organisational policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection.
- Promote positive relationships with neighbours and the wider community.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 6 months experience working with children and young people in the health and social care sector.
- An NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or Children and Young Person's Health and Social Care, or be willing to work towards this qualification.
- Experience working with challenging behaviour and/or complex needs.
- Reliability and professionalism are essential.
- A current, transferable DBS (registered on the update service) is preferred.
- A clear driving licence, with access to a vehicle, is also preferred.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Sunday.
- 12 hour day and night shifts.
- 6 hour respite shifts.
