About the Role
We are seeking a Personal Assistant to support a 19-year-old young man with Autism and anxiety. The successful candidate will be able to provide a meaningful and rewarding social life for the individual, helping them to participate in activities they enjoy, such as exercise, sports, and hobbies.
The ideal candidate will have a patient and understanding approach, with a strong emphasis on building trust and rapport with the individual and their family members. Time will be spent learning from the family about how best to support the individual and ensure their needs are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support to the individual in their daily life, including accompanying them to appointments and activities
- Assist with personal care tasks, such as managing medication and personal hygiene
- Develop and implement a support plan to help the individual achieve their goals and aspirations
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with Autism and/or learning disabilities
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
- Reliable and trustworthy, with a strong commitment to confidentiality
