We are seeking a skilled Process Technician to join our team at North American Construction Services, Ltd. in Pinson/Birmingham, AL.

About the Role

As a Process Technician, you will be responsible for removing burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpieces using various tools and equipment. You will also assist machine operators in setting up machines, measuring workpiece dimensions, and performing minor machine maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpieces using file, hand grinder, or wire brush
  • Assist machine operators in setting up machines and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished workpieces
  • Measure workpiece dimensions using a rule, template, or other measuring instruments to determine the accuracy of machine operation
  • Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces
  • May rivet and spot-weld workpieces
  • May tend machines that fabricate and assemble sheet metal products
  • Plate and structural layout using squares, center heads, tape measure, and other measuring devices
  • Operate hand torch, hand plasma, and track burner
  • Operate an overhead crane and jib hoist
Requirements
  • 2+ years of related experience and training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience reading and interpreting documents such as fabrication drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Previous experience in heavy manufacturing
