Job Summary
We are seeking a Policy and Compliance Advisor to join our team and provide expert tax advice and support services to government departments and the wider public sector. The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of taxes relevant to government departments, including employer tax responsibilities, VAT, Corporation Tax, and Construction Industry Scheme. They will also possess a successful track record of leading continuous tax improvements in process and compliance, as well as experience with up-skilling.

About the Job
As a Policy and Compliance Advisor, you will be responsible for providing clear communications and guidance on tax policy and compliance, interpreting and preparing guidance, and advising on complex and challenging tax issues. You will also take a lead role to inform and deliver the strategic priorities and direction of the Tax Centre of Excellence.

Key Responsibilities
As a Policy and Compliance Advisor, you will:
  • Provide expert tax advice and support services to government departments and the wider public sector
  • Develop and share best practice, ensuring tax is considered at an early stage of business planning processes
  • Collaborate across government and the wider public sector to address tax compliance risks and issues

Benefits
This role attracts a salary of £56,532 and includes a specialist allowance of £2,000.
