Senior Project Manager Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee the installation of sewerage and water networks, including pump stations and rising mains. This is a key position in our organisation, and the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Direct the installation, testing, and commissioning of waste and clean water services, ensuring alignment with company standards and procedures.
  • Health and Safety: Uphold rigorous health and safety protocols throughout all phases of projects, ensuring that staff and contractors adhere to approved procedures and protocols.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the company representative, maintaining professionalism and responsiveness in all interactions with clients and contractors, ensuring strong relationships are maintained.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Balance project execution with client needs, addressing any complaints or issues promptly to maintain strong relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Construction Oversight: Ensure safe and compliant construction of network assets, adhering to approved methods and specifications, and ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards.
  • Resource Management: Efficiently manage direct labor and contractors, oversee variations, and maintain a detailed site diary for project activities, ensuring that all resources are used effectively and efficiently.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert technical guidance to clients, contractors, and team members to ensure smooth operations and compliance with company standards and procedures.
  • Productivity Monitoring: Track project progress to ensure timely completion within budget, minimising material waste and optimising resource use, and ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in managing clean and waste water networks, including pump stations and rising mains.
  • Strong knowledge of current legislation, technical standards, and industry best practices in utility management.
  • NRSWA supervisor card.
  • SHEA card and/or CSCS registration.
  • Confined space and deep excavation qualifications.
  • Valid SMSTS competency.
