Advanced Specialist Pharmacist – Respiratory Medicine Specialist

About the Role

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking an experienced clinical pharmacist to join our team as an Advanced Specialist Pharmacist for Respiratory Medicine. This exciting opportunity will allow the successful candidate to work closely with our multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients with respiratory conditions.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for utilising their expert pharmaceutical knowledge to manage acutely ill patients in the respiratory setting. They will also provide specialist prescriber support for complex and expanding medicine regimes, including high-cost drugs used in severe asthma. Additionally, they will support efficient discharge medication supply routes and have the responsibility of line managing junior staff and leading on their development during their respiratory rotations.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent
  • Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Diploma / MSc or equivalent Qualification
  • Independent Prescriber with appropriate annotation on GPhC register or willing to undertake appropriate training to become an active independent prescriber
  • Commitment and evidence of professional updating and mandatory continuing professional development portfolio

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Great Britain (RPSGB) and / or Faculty status
  • Formal management and / or leadership qualification
  • MSc Clinical Pharmacy
  • Member of United Kingdom Clinical Pharmacy Association and / or specialist group(s)
