About the Role

We are seeking a talented Divisional Sales Manager to join our Retail team in our Homeware department at Liberty. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an entire department, ensuring sales, service, and stock targets are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Coaching

  • Plan and manage department rotas to ensure sufficient cover during peak trade periods
  • Conduct monthly one-to-one reviews with the team, setting and following up on objectives and targets
  • Address performance issues promptly and provide regular coaching to enhance performance
  • Hold daily team briefs to engage and energize the team to sell
  • Develop the team through training and development opportunities
  • Build and maintain working relationships with managers and buyers in own and other departments

Service for Sales

  • Set and monitor challenging sales targets for each team member
  • Coach the team to achieve targets and provide incentives for success
  • Execute floor moves in line with brand performance and sell-through
  • Provide weekly trade feedback highlighting successes, customer feedback, and opportunities for growth
  • Ensure the team is knowledgeable about all store services and promotions
  • Solve customer issues promptly and make decisions in the best interest of the customer and business

Standards and Operations

  • Conduct daily floor walks to ensure product availability and standards of the shop floor and stockroom
  • Prevent stock loss by ensuring all stock is tagged, free from damage, and paperwork is correctly administered
  • Participate in stock takes and prepare for inventory management

Requirements and Qualifications

This role requires excellent leadership and coaching skills, as well as the ability to work on a shift pattern, including early starts, late finishes, weekends, and bank holidays. You will need to be customer-focused, work well with others, and have a drive for excellence. Commercial thinking, planning, and organizing skills are also essential.
