Mental Health Support Worker

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Clinical Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality care in our inpatient services. As a Clinical Assistant, you will work collaboratively with our team to provide compassionate care to patients with mental health needs.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a structured setting within the field of mental health or learning disabilities. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver direct care within an inpatient setting under the direction of a qualified staff member but without direct supervision. Our ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge of CWP observation policy, mental health legislation, and policies related to confidentiality issues.
Responsibilities
As a Clinical Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the therapeutic relationship with service users through engagement and activities deemed appropriate to the client group
* Assisting in standardised procedures relating to individualised total patient care under the direct supervision of a primary nurse
* Carrying out other duties identified/designed by senior staff that relate to the needs, changes, and demands of the Ward and patient care, inclusive of the provision of personal care when required
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary of £24,071 to £25,674 per annum (pro rata) and access to Wagestream for weekly pay. Additionally, we provide a full paid training package before offering work, which includes a mixture of eLearning and Face-to-Face training. The face-to-face training is held at Sycamore House, Ellesmere Port or Soss Moss, Nether Alderley, and includes Trust Induction and Clinical Systems Training. Person Specification
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
* Hold an appropriate Mental Health-related NVQ level 2
* Demonstrate a range of work procedures and practices based on a basic level of theoretical knowledge
* Possess NVQ qualifications in Health and Social Care or other related disciplines
* Have completed or be working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house training to be completed within 3 months of start date)
