Job Description: Supporting Children's Learning in EYFS

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated teaching assistant to join our team in a primary school based in Kings Heath, Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the learning and development of children in the early years foundation stage.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure effective support and communication.
  2. Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children in line with the EYFS framework.
  3. Work closely with early years practitioners to observe and assess children's progress and development, using tools and techniques specified by the EYFS framework.
  4. Adapt activities and resources to meet the needs of children with special educational needs (SEN) or disabilities.
  5. Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children, including risk assessments, supervision, and promoting good hygiene practices.
  6. Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills related to the EYFS framework, child development, safeguarding, and first aid.
Requirements:
  1. Relevant qualifications and/or experience in early years education, such as a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification or equivalent.
  2. Experience in supporting children with SEN or disabilities in an early years setting.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues to support children's learning and development.
  5. Flexible and proactive approach to work, with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for working with young children.
Salary and Benefits:
