Company Overview

Mint Selection is currently supporting a key client in the search for an experienced Grid Connection Engineer. The business is a leading investor who deploys their own capital into renewable developments, including CHP, Biomass, wind, solar, and BESS projects.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will support the development team and Head of Connections in managing the grid connection process for energy projects. This involves using analytical, communication, and project management skills to ensure timely and cost-effective connections.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist with identifying and qualifying grid capacity for electricity storage systems, demand, and generation projects within target areas (UK).
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth grid connections.
  • Report to the Head of Connections and engage with the wider project development team on electrical engineering deliverables.
  • Monitor and report on grid connection progress.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations and technology developments.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in energy project development, particularly in grid connections and pre-construction development.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and be judged on success.
  • Comfortable initiating contact with DNOs, TNOs, ICPs, EPCs, and other third-party advisors.
  • Understanding of distribution and transmission grids.
