About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at St George's Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Children's Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children with special needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children with special educational needs, providing advice and input as required.
  • Support and advise health colleagues, teaching professionals, parents, and carers in the management of complex cases.
  • Work with a wide variety of specialisms within children's services, including autism, physical disabilities, and developmental coordination disorder.

Requirements

  • Approved Degree Level Training in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with Health Care Professions Council as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Relevant postgraduate courses, such as Sensory Integration Therapy or Autism training.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant postgraduate training in Sensory Integration Therapy, Autism, or other related areas.
  • Experience working with children with autism, physical disabilities, or developmental coordination disorder.
  • Knowledge of child development, neurodevelopmental stages, and the role of occupation in childhood.
