Westinghouse Electric Company LLC. is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Export Control Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all relevant export, import & Nuclear Safeguards regulations and procedures are interpreted, understood, and complied with.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and instruction to the Springfields site on export control policies and procedures.
  • Review and implement workflow management systems to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Design and implement export control procedures and manuals.
  • Provide export control training to site personnel.
  • Support and advise on new build and projects.
  • Authorise End User Undertakings and issue 'Authority to export'.
  • Manage Global Repository maintenance and updates.
  • Provide advice, education, and guidance on licensable and reportable items.
  • Manage internal and external contacts for Trade Compliance.
  • Lead regular update meetings and ensure continual open communication with Export Licence Owners and Export Control Directors.

Requirements:

  • Ability to interpret instructions relating to regulatory compliance.
  • Relevant experience of trade compliance in relation to nuclear fuel, technology, and goods.
  • Previous experience of working closely with UK Government departments.
  • Knowledge of the UK Strategic Export Control Lists.
  • Professional qualification relevant to the role or a minimum of two years' experience.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant good practise regarding export control.

Reporting Requirements:

  • Monthly/weekly reporting to DESNZ.
  • Annual reporting to ECJU.
  • Response to DESNZ 'inward assurance' requests.
  • DESNZ notification to register the initial use of a new licence.
  • Quarterly and annual additional protocol reporting.
