Process Engineer - Nuclear Industry

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to contribute to the development of safe, efficient, and reliable nuclear processes at Avua.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Development and Optimization: Develop and optimize nuclear processes, creating process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and detailed engineering calculations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Safety Analysis and Risk Mitigation: Conduct safety analyses, hazard and operability studies, and failure mode and effects analysis to identify and mitigate risks associated with nuclear processes.
  • Process Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor process performance, analyze data, and troubleshoot process-related issues to provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards and regulations, and develop comprehensive documentation, including process descriptions, safety cases, and operating procedures.
  • Team Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate process designs with other systems, and communicate process-related information effectively to stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process safety, efficiency, and reliability, and stay current with industry developments and best practices.
  • Project Support: Support project planning, scheduling, and budgeting for process-related activities, and provide input on resource requirements and project risk assessments.
  • Training and Development: Assist in the development and delivery of training programs for plant operators and maintenance staff on process systems and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree or specialized training in nuclear engineering or process engineering is a plus.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in process engineering, preferably in the nuclear industry or a similarly regulated environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in process simulation software, such as Aspen HYSYS, MATLAB, COMSOL, or RELAP5, and knowledge of process control systems, instrumentation, and automation.
