Job Title: Apprentice Fabric Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Fabric Engineer to join our team at Macro Plastics, Inc. in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment, conducting preventative and day-to-day maintenance on a continuous process production plant, and diagnosing and communicating electrical and/or mechanical faults with machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support all engineering breakdowns, diagnose faults, and replace machine parts.
  • Rectify hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical issues.
  • Enhance, repair, and maintain all plant, equipment, and services within the manufacturing facility.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
  • Be involved with improvement projects during planned downtime and identify engineering solutions to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain relationships with plant and services contractors/suppliers.
  • Organize and maintain the technical database.
  • Order spares/consumables required for engineering activities.
  • Work closely with Production, Tool Change, and Tool Room teams.
  • Operate within key Engineering and Health & Safety codes.
Requirements:
  • Level 3 NVQ or Equivalent in Electrical or Multi Skilled Engineering.
  • GCSE Grade C and above or equivalent Maths and English.
  • Proven working knowledge of plant maintenance and repairs, including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
  • Able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.
