About the Role

We are looking for a skilled SEN Support Assistant to join our inclusive school community in Westminster. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with students, teachers, and the SEN department to provide personalized support and help students overcome learning challenges.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children who require additional support and a deep understanding of the importance of creating an inclusive learning environment. They will be able to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, and communicate effectively to ensure seamless collaboration.

The estimated salary for this position is £26,000 - £31,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a clear DBS check, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support students with learning difficulties in accessing the curriculum and achieving their educational goals.
  2. Assist teachers in implementing individualized learning plans and adapting classroom activities, resources, and assessments to meet the unique needs of each student.
  3. Help create a positive learning environment by encouraging participation, building rapport with students, and ensuring they feel safe and valued.
  4. Collaborate with the SEN team to develop and implement strategies to support students with complex needs.
  5. Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and contributing to ongoing support and adjustments in learning strategies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a school setting, particularly with students who have learning difficulties or special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting diverse learners in overcoming challenges.
  • A clear DBS check is required to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.
