About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Counsellor to join our team at Nuffield Health, a charity dedicated to building a healthier nation. As an Integrative Counsellor, you will work with individuals who have common mental health problems, using a step-care approach to therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat individuals with common mental health problems, promoting self-management of their recovery.
  • Conduct patient-centred consultations to identify areas for change and recovery, and assess risk to self and others.
  • Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to Nuffield Health referral protocols, and refer clients to relevant support agencies/GP when necessary.
  • Ensure maintenance of standards of practice according to Nuffield Health and relevant regulations, staying up-to-date on new recommendations and guidelines.
  • Protect client confidentiality at all times, adhering to the information governance policy.
  • Stay aware of advances in treatment for common mental health problems and keep up-to-date records of continued professional development.
Requirements
  • Full Accreditation with the BACP or UKCP, Accredited Professional Status with the NCPS, or Accredited Membership with COSCA.
  • Minimum of two years post-degree experience in counselling.
  • NICE-approved Counselling for Depression training (ideally).
