Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Highways Operations Manager to join our team at Marlborough Highways Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating teams of directly employed and subcontract labor and staff, ensuring that operational and financial targets and deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the safe running of sites and implement safe working procedures.
  2. Develop and review risk assessments and method statements.
  3. Maintain effective communication between management and supervision.
  4. Manage vehicle defects in accordance with company policies.
  5. Liaise with clients and stakeholders to build relationships.
  6. Conduct health and safety inspections.
  7. Program and resource all works for contracts operating from various areas.
  8. Minimize costs through efficient programming and labor utilization.
  9. Identify contract variations and initiate change management processes.
  10. Monitor and record work items, including day works and additional works.
  11. Review drawings, site instructions, and contract documents for accuracy.
  12. Procure materials based on contract programs.
  13. Enter labor, plant, and material costings into the computerized works management system.
  14. Oversee measurement information collection for valuation purposes.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in highways maintenance and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. A competitive salary of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum is available for this role, depending on experience.
