Job Title: Reviews Officer

Ackerman Pierce is seeking an experienced Reviews Officer to join our team. As a Reviews Officer, you will play a crucial role in reviewing negative homelessness decisions and suitability of offers, conducting appeals against housing register decisions, and making enquiries into possible fraudulent housing applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing negative homelessness decisions and suitability of offers, and producing written adjudications supplying the full reason for the review decision.
  • Conducting appeals against housing register decisions.
  • Making enquiries into possible fraudulent housing applications and referring those that require further investigation.
  • Acting as the council's representative in any subsequent court challenge to a review decision or in any litigation around the conduct of the review.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of Part 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996.
  • Ability to understand the challenges and complexities around homelessness today, and a commitment to addressing housing issues and reducing homelessness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
