Job Title: Homeless Reviews Officer

Ackerman Pierce is seeking an experienced Homeless Reviews Officer to join our team. As a key member of our housing department, you will be responsible for reviewing negative homelessness decisions and suitability of offers, as well as conducting appeals against housing register decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and assess homelessness applications to ensure compliance with Part 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996.
  • Conduct appeals against housing register decisions and produce written adjudications.
  • Investigate possible fraudulent housing applications and refer those that require further investigation to the relevant authorities.
  • Act as the council's representative in any subsequent court challenge to a review decision or in any litigation around the conduct of the review.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of Part 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996.
  • Experience in reviewing homelessness applications and conducting appeals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
