About the Role
The Medical Director will be a key member of our Executive Team, providing specialist advice on strategic development and management of clinical services. This role involves joint responsibility for Clinical Governance, Risk, and Quality Standards, as well as representing NHS Scotland at a Regional and National level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Medical Team from a professional and operational perspective, including job planning, appraisal, and recruitment.
- Provide specialist advice on aspects of strategic development and management of safe, effective, efficient, and sustainable clinical services.
- Represent NHS Scotland at a Regional and National level, promoting the organization's interests and values.
- Collaborate with other senior leaders to develop and implement clinical strategies that improve patient outcomes and experience.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a GMC registered Specialist or General Practitioner with significant leadership and senior management experience. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, patients, and stakeholders.
