Area Sales Manager

The successful incumbent will be accountable for the development and delivery of our new car Retailer Business Objective and Accessory Sales strategy in the UK North Region.
This is a key role that requires close collaboration with Retailers in the assigned area, as well as a strong Manufacturer/Retailer partnership. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the local market, competitor activity, and the ability to drive sales growth through effective consultation and support to Retailers.
The role will also involve working closely with the Honda Area Customer Manager, Honda Finance Area Operations Manager, and the UK North team to achieve Customer Satisfaction objectives in Retailers.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain strategic business relationships at all levels with Retailers.
- Develop and implement a strong integration plan within the Retailer sales team.
- Accountable for achieving sales objectives on new vehicles (Retail, Corporate & Motability) and Accessories target.
- Support the 'Future Sales' strategy and drive Retailer activity, including marketing at a local level.
- Drive Retailer activity including:
- Analysis and actions related to sales channel, model mix and stock.
- Evaluation of Retailer sales funnel and sales process.
- Driving Retailer activity including marketing at a local level.
- Clarity of HME-UK communications and related Retailer actions.
- Retailer staff training up to date.
- Retailer premises clean, tidy and relevant to existing new car campaign.
- Analysis and action related to Customer experience in Retailer.
- Setting, monitoring and evaluating Retailer specific action plans.
- Support of wider Retailer meetings including BDR, FDR, Area and Regional Retailer meetings.
- Present/agreement of Retailer Business Objectives in line with HME-UK requirements.
- Share of best practice to help boost sales pace.
- Ensure Retailer marketing is integrated to UK advertising and meets our code of conduct.
- Timely and accurate submission of a bi-monthly sales forecast to your RSSM.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
- Experience of selling and achieving commercial targets.
- Good communication and relationship skills.
- Proven analytical skills to review data and provide quality information and actions to others.
- Broad knowledge of the sector including competitor activity.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team within your assigned geographical area.
Desirable:
- Relevant experience to provide expertise and credibility with Retailers.
- Understanding and support of the current Ki Auto Business Plan and related ASM activities.
