About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Planning Specialist to join our team at Imerys. As a Mine Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for defining reserves to access raw material for BA operations. Your role will involve providing mine optimization, analysis, design, and mine planning/scheduling across mining sites in Cornwall.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medium to long-term planning to support the extraction of mineral assets
- Create long-term schedules for waste dumps
- Create pit and dump designs to ensure optimization of operational resources and maintain production and quality targets
- Provide support to mining and production managers and professionals in operations and projects
- Train site engineers in short-term and mid-term mine planning
Requirements:
- Degree-level qualification in Science or Engineering, ideally Mining Engineering or Mining Geology
- Direct and relevant experience working in a mining environment
- Production experience necessary with a few years of relevant experience in mine planning and mine designs in a mining environment (Brownfield)
- Intention to register as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer following professional training and experience
- Full driving license
