Experienced House Manager/Butler Sought for Formal Household

Katherine Shields Private Staff Ltd is seeking a skilled and adaptable House Manager/Butler to join their fully staffed formal household in Watlington, Oxfordshire. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and be comfortable working in a rural setting.

The role involves overseeing the household staff, collaborating with other staff members, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the residence. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the property's fine furniture, artwork, and special finishes, as well as welcoming and taking care of guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage household staff
  • Liaise with other staff members at the property
  • Take care of the property's fine furniture, artwork, and special finishes
  • Welcome and take care of guests
  • Set and lay tables
  • Provide food and drink service
  • Provision the house
  • Manage the wardrobe
  • Liaise with the Family Office to ensure a smooth and efficient day-to-day operation
  • Drive errands as required and be a confident driver
  • Accompany the family on ad-hoc travel

Requirements:

  • 5 days per week, including weekends when required
  • Salary: £60,000 gross per annum (live-in) or negotiable salary for live-out
  • Separate accommodation provided (no pets or dependants)
