Experienced House Manager/Butler Sought for Formal Household

Katherine Shields Private Staff Ltd is seeking a skilled and adaptable House Manager/Butler to join their fully staffed formal household in Watlington, Oxfordshire. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and be comfortable working in a rural setting.

The role involves supervising and managing household staff, liaising with other staff at the property, and taking care of the property's fine furniture, artwork, and special finishes. The successful candidate will also be responsible for welcoming and taking care of guests, setting and laying tables, food and drink service, provisioning for the house, wardrobe management, and liaising with the Family Office to ensure a smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the residence.

Additional responsibilities may include driving errands as required and accompanying the family on ad-hoc travel. The ideal candidate will be a confident driver and have excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage household staff
  • Liaise with other staff at the property
  • Take care of the property's fine furniture, artwork, and special finishes
  • Welcome and take care of guests
  • Set and lay tables
  • Food and drink service
  • Provisioning for the house
  • Wardrobe management
  • Liaise with the Family Office
  • Drive errands as required

Requirements:

  • Experience as a House Manager/Butler or similar role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a rural setting
  • Confident driver
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

What We Offer:
