Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise a team of operatives in a busy recycling and waste management facility.
  • Operate a Wheeled Loading Shovel (essential) and, when needed, a 360 Wheeled Excavator (desirable) to move materials and manage site operations.
  • Coordinate daily tasks and schedules to ensure optimal productivity and minimal downtime.
  • Monitor the plant's operational performance and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Conduct routine checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
  • Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Communicate effectively with site management to report on performance and any operational issues.
  • Assist with site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Experience operating a Wheeled Loading Shovel (essential).
  • Experience with a 360 Wheeled Excavator (desirable).
  • Proven experience in a team leader or supervisory role, preferably in recycling, waste management, or a similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends.
