Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Nurse Assessment Specialist to work as a Functional Assessor for SJB Medical. This role involves conducting thorough assessments of individuals and their disabilities or conditions' impact on their work life.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate an individual's medical history through careful listening and documentation.
  • Conduct physical examinations to assess the effects of disabilities or conditions on an individual's work life.
  • Produce concise, accurate reports determining each person's eligibility for benefits with the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP).
Requirements:
  • NMC Level 1 Registered Adult Nurse with a minimum of 12 months broad-based clinical post-registration experience within the past 5 years.
  • Experience working with adults in various clinical situations, particularly in Surgical, Medical, A & E, Community, and Practice Nursing environments.
  • NMC registration with Continuous Professional Development documented on your CV.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including negotiation and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Proficiency in IT and experience using a range of software.
  • Self-awareness and focus on professional development.
  • Honesty and ability to maintain integrity and customer confidentiality.
  • Motivation to contribute to quality customer service, demonstrating empathy, respect, and sensitivity in assessment delivery.
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines and standards.
  • Willingness to work as a reliable team member and support the multi-disciplinary team.
Compensation Package:
  • A competitive salary: £37,500 - £43,000 per annum + £2,000 after one year + ongoing bonus of up to 10%.
  • Part-time availability with Monday-Friday 9am-5pm hours.
  • Hybrid working arrangement.
  • £1,000 after six months & £1,000 after 12 months (if approved).
  • Quality-related bonus of up to 10% once approved and eligible.
