About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Nursery Assistant to join our team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children aged 6 months to 5 years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Nurse in providing daily care and activities for a group of children.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and stimulating environment that promotes the children's physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development.
  • Work in partnership with parents to encourage their involvement in the nursery and their child's care.
  • Provide and maintain accurate records as necessary, in line with the EYFS Statutory Framework.
  • Attend training courses to ensure that modern, innovative, and forward-looking practices are maintained and to allow for personal career development.
  • Assist in the daily domestic management of the nursery, ensuring that it is kept safe, secure, and clean at all times.

Requirements

  • NVQ 2 in childcare or equivalent qualification.
  • An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • A knowledge of safeguarding children and child protection.
