Job Summary:The Divisional Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for leading the implementation of strategic improvement projects within the Laboratory Chemicals Division (LCD). This role will involve managing project planning, scheduling, risk and resource management, budgeting, and the coordination of projects from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the implementation of strategic improvement projects within the LCD
- Manage project planning, scheduling, risk and resource management, budgeting, and the coordination of projects from conception to completion
- Collaborate with local site teams to ensure safety, compliance, quality assurance, and project goals are achieved in full, on time, and within budget
- Develop and implement a standardized process for asset management
- Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams to achieve business objectives
- Provide mentorship and support to team members while resolving challenges to ensure successful project execution
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and develop solutions to minimize their impact on project timelines
- Implement quality processes to ensure project goals are achieved to required standards and specifications
- Prepare regular progress updates, project documentation, and presentations for management and partners
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Previous experience in large and multifunctional Project Management Engineering experience
- Working internationally across numerous sites in different regions
- Familiarity with COMAH / DSEAR / ATEX and OSHA regulations
- Chemical manufacturing / FMCG experience
- PPI / Six Sigma / World Class Manufacturing experience
- Validation Protocols experience
- Experience working in a union environment and/or matrix organization
- Safety management strategies and techniques
- Experienced in working and leading multi-functional teams to achieve business objectives
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to influence business partners to validate project goals and acquire formal agreement
- Ability to analyze problems, identifying root causes, and implementing efficient countermeasures
- Active leadership of progress reports, project information, and presentations for leadership and sponsors
- Cost control and budgeting of large multiyear / international projects
- Contract negotiations / RFP development
- Communication of project metrics
- Experience of validation protocols
- Proven engineering leadership
- Make timely decisions based on data, analysis, and risk assessment
- PC literate with a strong skill using Power BI, Databases, Outlook, and Excel
- Proven use of and qualified in lean methodologies
- Experience of maintaining and establishing relationships with authorities and agencies
- Extensive knowledge of equipment purchasing and installation & performance contracts
- Vendor and contract management
- Contractor control
- Strong understanding of permit to work
- Attention to detail
- This role is based on-site in Loughborough, UK. Travel will be required to support other parts of the LCD business
