**Job Overview**

The Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust is seeking an experienced healthcare professional to join their Bowel Cancer Screening team as a Screening Practitioner. This role will be based at the Medway Hospital in Gillingham, with opportunities to travel to other sites.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in ongoing quality assurance, service feedback, and audit processes, with a focus on data collection and follow-up of patients at 30 days post-screening.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a dynamic team environment, contributing to the promotion of cancer screening services across Kent and Medway.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend colonoscopy sessions and record patient pathways
  • Attend flexible sigmoidoscopy screening lists
  • Establish effective links with local colorectal cancer multidisciplinary teams
  • Provide advice, information, and support to patients and carers
  • Apply knowledge and communication skills when breaking bad news and providing psychological support

Requirements:

  • Registered healthcare professional educated to diploma level
  • Awareness of national screening and cancer agenda
  • Knowledge of clinical governance, risk management, valid consent, and withdrawal of consent

Estimated Salary:** £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
