About The Role

EKC Group is seeking an experienced and innovative English specialist to lead our English department at EKC Canterbury College. As a Head of English, you will be responsible for managing a programme area and promoting high standards in a positive and supportive culture that aspires to be outstanding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a programme area and promote high standards in a positive and supportive culture
  • Lead and manage a team of English teachers to deliver high-quality curriculum provision
  • Develop and implement curriculum plans to ensure excellent student outcomes
  • Manage a delegated budget to support the delivery of English programmes
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the college to achieve shared goals

About You

We are looking for an experienced and innovative English specialist who is passionate about driving up standards and inspiring their team. You will have a track record of delivering high-quality curriculum provision and a commitment to excellence. You will also have a good understanding of current industry practices and a focus on delivery and strategic understanding.

To be successful in this role, you will hold a degree-level qualification and a recognised teaching qualification (DET/PGCE/CertEd). You will also have demonstrable teaching practice at good or outstanding level and experience of curriculum planning and development.
