Job Summary:

This role involves providing dedicated support to students within a Higher Education institution. The ideal candidate will have experience in student services and safeguarding, with a strong understanding of disability and equality legislation.

Main Responsibilities:

  2. Facilitate one-to-one meetings with students to discuss their support needs
  3. Develop bespoke support plans to ensure students receive the necessary assistance
  4. Maintain knowledge of specialist support services and provide guidance to students as needed
  5. Act as a liaison between the training team, students, and external support agencies
  6. Ensure accurate data sharing and reporting in accordance with policies and procedures
  7. Create and monitor individual learning and support plans for students
  8. Support students with Disabled Student Allowance applications
  9. Engage students in academic engagement policy initiatives
  10. Write supporting documents for students' extenuating circumstances
  11. Build, edit, and maintain student profile documents
  12. Liaise with training and academic services for attendance monitoring
  13. Provide support to practitioners regarding welfare or learning concerns
  14. Sustain academic engagement practices and assist students reintegrating into study
  15. Facilitate training for new staff on safeguarding and safety practices
  16. Administer wellbeing bursaries and create content warnings for productions
  17. Liaise with accrediting partners to exchange best practices and adhere to academic policies">

Requirements:

  1. ">
  2. At least 2 years' experience in a student services or safeguarding role, preferably in Higher Education
  3. Knowledge of the Higher Education sector, particularly student services management and administration
  4. Comprehensive understanding of disability and equality legislation, including Disabled Student Allowance processes
  5. Educated to degree level or relevant qualification
  6. Demonstrable rigour in reporting and administrative management
  7. Excellent people management and interpersonal skills, with experience managing student/client relationships
  8. Full understanding of safeguarding best practices and ability to demonstrate them
  9. Awareness of data privacy standards, planning skills, and honesty
  10. Understanding of Higher Education learning/training environments
  11. Familiarity with Higher Education procedures, data processing, and reporting
  12. Strong motivation, person-orientation, and drive
  13. Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work collaboratively as part of a small team
  14. Flexibility in a dynamic environment
