Psychotherapist for Vulnerable Youth

About the Role:
Polaris Children's Services is committed to delivering high-quality services that promote the wellbeing of children and young people. As a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, you will work closely with foster carers and other professionals to provide short-term interventions and consultations to families in need. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping us achieve our goal of building brighter futures for vulnerable youth.
Responsibilities:
• Provide therapeutic interventions to children in care and care leavers
• Work collaboratively with foster carers and other professionals to ensure placement stability and improved emotional health and wellbeing for the child or young person
• Develop and deliver training and consultations to systems around the child or young person
• Hold a Counselling and/or Therapy Qualification (Degree level or above) including completion of 100 hours of supervised practice
• A registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACAP) or equivalent
• Maintain clinical supervision each month in line with recognised professional body standards
Requirements:
• Experience working with children and families, particularly those affected by trauma, attachment issues, and care experiences
• Strong knowledge of the Children's Act 1989 & 2004 and safeguarding procedures
• Ability to engage, motivate, and challenge individuals to achieve positive change
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to travel around Wirral and beyond to support clients
