About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team in Nottingham. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional technical and commercial solutions to a range of clients across the private and public sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage designs, feasibility studies, reports, and contract documents
  • Carry out building analysis and ensure projects are delivered to the right scope of time, quality, and budget
  • Liaise directly with Clients and Contractors to promote business development
  • Supervise a team of engineers and technicians and assist in the management of project resources and costs
Requirements
  • HND/Degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Significant experience of mechanical building services/HVAC design (domestic water services, ventilation, heating, cooling)
  • Hands-on knowledge and understanding of IES, AutoCAD; experience with Revit MEP is desirable
  • Knowledge of current legislation (UK Building Regulations, Low/Zero Carbon Technologies, BREEAM)
  • Excellent communication skills, collaborative, and self-motivated
Desirable Qualifications
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or IEng, BEng with mechanical engineering experience
  • Knowledge of construction industry design processes and procurement arrangements
  • Excellent design skills across a variety of sectors
  • Resource planning and management experience
  • Business development experience
