Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Playout Controller to join our 24/7 operations team in the UK. As a Playout Controller, you will be responsible for managing the transmission of live events, schedules, and content delivery to ensure seamless playout on all platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule Preparation: Perform manual and automated tasks to identify potential errors and ensure readiness for broadcast.
  • Live Schedule Management: Edit live automation schedules to alter content or timings as required.
  • Live Schedule Monitoring: Monitor channel outputs to confirm fault-free playout.
  • Fault Identification: Identify any loss or degradation of channel outputs.
  • Fault Recovery: Use system resilience or schedule editing to recover from channel loss or degradation.
  • Fault Management: Communicate with customers through on-screen messages, voice-overs, or other messaging.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Degree qualification or relevant vocational qualifications.
  • Specialist Knowledge: Skilled in Playout systems and workflows, managing live events, and Playout systems used by Sky.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in digital playout environments and complex live broadcast experience.
